Delete your account

This page is for the 2 Wheels in Common app, listed on Google Play as2WIC: Motorcycle Group Rides and on the App Store as 2 Wheels in Common. The app is published by Spirit Lake Technology Group LLC, shown on Google Play as Spirit Lake Tech Group LLC.

You can delete your 2 Wheels in Common account and data at any time, two ways. Deleting in the app takes effect immediately. If you no longer have the app, email us and we handle the request within 30 days.

Delete from inside the app

Open the app, go to the Profile tab, scroll to the account section, tapDelete account, and type your username to confirm. Deletion happens immediately when you confirm, not on a queue.

If you no longer have the app

Email support@2wheelsincommon.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We action emailed requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner. (Deleting in the app is immediate; the 30 days applies only to emailed requests.)

What is deleted

  • Your login. The account is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
  • Your profile details: your username becomes an anonymous placeholder, and your bio, avatar, region, and bike types are cleared.
  • Your avatar and the images you uploaded to your own profile.
  • Push notification tokens.
  • Live ride positions and ride status pings.
  • Contact details you shared with a business through a Ride-In.
  • Your rider stats totals.
  • Who you follow, and your group memberships.
  • Future rides you were hosting that nobody else had joined, and your RSVPs to future rides.

What stays, and why

Everything in this list stays attached to an anonymous placeholder profile, with no name. Nothing here identifies you.

  • Routes you created, including the recorded GPS track, and rides that already happened. Other riders' plans and history depend on these, so they are kept and un-named rather than deleted.
  • Cover images attached to those routes and rides.
  • Groups you owned, which become unclaimed rather than disappearing under their members.
  • Route quality ratings you gave, badges you earned, and your attendance on past rides.
  • Ride reviews you wrote and reviews written about you, including their free text.
  • Reports you filed, and moderation and administrative records. Keeping these is what lets the moderation trail stay intact without naming you.
  • Billing and entitlement records.

Two things worth saying plainly:

  • Live positions are deleted 7 days after their last update by a scheduled job, whether or not you delete your account.
  • A review or report you wrote is free text. If you typed something that identifies you inside it, that text stays, because nothing can scrub prose.
