Frequently asked questions
The stuff people actually want to know before handing over their email address.
- What is 2 Wheels in Common?
- 2 Wheels in Common is a moto-meetup app for motorcycle riders. It helps you find local rides, plan and record GPS routes, join a local riding group and connect with a riding community that actually shows up.
- How is it different from a Facebook group?
- Facebook groups are general-purpose. 2 Wheels in Common is built specifically for riders: location-aware, ride-focused and without the noise. No algorithm deciding who sees your ride post, and routes and groups live in a dedicated space instead of a scrolling feed.
- What kind of riders is it for?
- All of them. Whether you ride a cruiser, an ADV bike, a sportbike or a vintage café racer, if you want to ride with other people, it is for you. Riding style and pace filters let you find riders who match.
- Is it free?
- Yes. Finding rides, joining groups, planning and recording routes are all free. We will introduce optional paid features down the road, but the community experience stays free.
- When does it launch?
- 2 Wheels in Common is live in beta right now on Android. Request access below and we will get you set up.
- Which platforms is it on?
- Android, in open beta today. iOS is planned once the Android beta is further along.
- Can I organize my own rides or just join others?
- Both. You can create a ride with a route, date and meeting point -- attach an existing route or plan a new one with turn-by-turn directions -- or browse what other riders near you have planned and join with a tap.
- Does 2 Wheels in Common help me plan and record routes?
- Yes -- this is not just a meetup app. Plan a route with turn-by-turn directions before you ride, or record your own GPS track as you go and mark stops for fuel, food, coffee or a good viewpoint. Every launch region starts with a set of curated routes, plus everything the community records and shares.
- Are there riding groups in my area?
- Launch groups are already running in Portland, Seattle, Arizona and Boston, each with its own organizer. Search by name or region to find one, join with a tap, or apply to organize your own once you know the ropes.
- Does the app track my location while I am riding?
- No continuous GPS tracking. You set a general area on your profile so the app can surface nearby rides and groups, and when you record a route you control when recording starts and stops. During a group ride, riders can optionally share a simple status (on my way, fell behind, need a stop) -- never a live GPS position.
- Is my data shared with third parties?
- No. We do not sell or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers. Full details are in our privacy policy.
- Can I delete my account?
- Yes. Delete your account anytime from Profile → Danger Zone -- no support ticket, no waiting. Deletion is confirmed by typing your username so it cannot happen by accident. The Terms of Service and a support contact are always available in the app under Legal & Support.
- Can I plan a route somewhere I do not live?
- Yes. When you plan a route, you can move the search anchor to wherever you are actually headed instead of being stuck with results centered on your home base. Planning a trip through unfamiliar territory works the same as planning a Sunday loop from your driveway.
- How do I find motorcycle rides near me?
- Once you set your location in 2 Wheels in Common, the app surfaces upcoming group rides in your area automatically. You can filter by date, riding style and distance to find rides that fit your schedule and your pace. No digging through Facebook events or group chats required.
- How do I sign up?
- The app is in beta on Android. Drop your email below and we will reach out with access.
